It's a great time to be a Call of Duty fanboy, if you are a ELITE member....and play on Xbox 360. Before I get going on this subject, majority of my gaming comes on the Xbox 360. So I am by no way taking sides in this argument. So as I was saying, if you play MW3 on Xbox 360 and have a ELITE membership...chances are you are enjoying the benefits of forking over the additional $50.
Here is where the "Biased" part comes into play. I know Activision and Microsoft sign the "Exclusive" contract a little over 2 years ago to bring all DLC content to Xbox first. I understand that, even though I don't agree with one console getting content earlier than the other. What's next? Are they going to start delaying the launch of the game for a full month, just so they can sign another contract? Could it have something to do with out of the 12.3 million units sold, over 7.5 million was on the Xbox 360, and only 4 million on PlayStation 3?
The "Season of Content" has already begun on the Xbox 360 with the release of two maps. A third map has already been announced to drop towards the end of February, BEFORE anything gets released on the PlayStation 3. Both consoles charge the same amount for the same service. But if I was playing Modern Warfare 3 on the PlayStation 3 and was a ELITE member, I would be highly pissed. Besides the fact that Xbox gets all the maps first, when this November rolls around and the next yearly re-skin installment of Guitar Hero....I mean Call of Duty drops. The question is, will PlayStation 3 players have all of the content available for Modern Warfare 3 or will it release after Black Ops 2?
